“What Makes a Masterpiece?”

“What Makes a Masterpiece?”
mas⋅ter⋅piece
noun
1.
a person's greatest piece of work, as in an art.

2.
anything done with masterly skill: a masterpiece of improvisation.

3.
a consummate example of skill or excellence of any kind: The chef's cake was a masterpiece.

4.
a piece made by a person aspiring to the rank of master in a guild or other craft organization as a proof of competence.

Again with an open ended question one must consider the source of the word and then its application. Thus one has to consider which definition is to be used in answering the question as presented. As per the normal I’ve a problem with most of man’s definition as it’s describing anything a man/woman can do is or can be a masterpiece.

One must consider the first definition above – ‘a person’s greatest piece of work, as in an art.’ This implies that man/woman can have a greatest piece of work, i.e. a masterpiece, without any other intervention. This definition discounts anyone’s ability to do anything without the intervention of Father would be ludicrous in my mind.

Therefore I like the second part of the first definition, ‘anything done with masterly skill: a masterpiece of improvisation.’ i.e. “to make, provide, or arrange from whatever materials are readily available.” Thus we follow to all of the rules of ‘creation’ that something must have been available to assist in making something new or unique.

My answer then would be clarified as follows; a masterpiece is the blending of preparation, thoughtful reflection, inspiration and a need for something to replace or take a space previously neglected. It becomes the best of the best of the person causing the collection of the above items into a coherent creation of man (in conjunction with Heavenly Father).

In contrast to man’s definition which gives all of the credit to the man/woman – mind clarifies the divine intervention required in all of creation throughout all time and all eternity. Thus I’d call the creation and birth of an infant – a masterpiece! The creation of both a man and woman as a masterpiece! A sunset or sunrise is a masterpiece! A waterfalls and a rainbow are masterpieces! Mostly masterpieces are what one sees within their minds and values; something pulled from their past and learning.

A masterpiece is in the eyes of the beholder – yet much more. If one could pause and visualize a small child playing with mud and making pies – each pie is a masterpiece in the child’s eyes and being. For it’s the best he/she can do within their sphere of experience and learning.
It’s the first drawing of semblance from the hands of one unknown to the arts of man. One can imagine the love of a parent watching a child take its first step or saying its first word. Each of these towers over something the world would determine to be a masterpiece.

Thus you’ve my answer to the question asked above – now one would guess the world causes masterpieces to be defined in their image! It’s something they can put a price upon – and then barter away anything they don’t consider to be a masterpiece. The world believes it’s above any censure and since there’s none to dispute them in the open media as all are on the same payroll.

Thus the solution mix is biased – and one must remember those mixing the solution are considered to be the art or masterpiece experts. To some this would be considered inbreeding – and with a collusion of intent and motives. When one defines according to ones own interest then they are no longer neutral. They can define a masterpiece by sheer size or by length of time to finish. In fact they (the world) define all of the rules of what a masterpiece might be or what it might not be. Thus the world’s masterpiece is by their definition whatever they choose to define as a masterpiece. In their elite group which ignores the common person and/or their appreciation of a masterpiece. Yet they’ve also convinced themselves that the common man/woman will accept fully what they’ve determined to be a masterpiece. Sadly this destroys a natural appreciation of a masterpiece!

A masterpiece is a natural occurrence – where one is captured by innate beauty or enduring appreciation. Found seldom at the hands of a man or woman – other than through their eyes and instincts. Thus the seeing of a newborn – a creation of love and commitment, a gift of life! Yet the world has certainly changed this definition of marriage and life. Therefore the world has taken the most precious and replaced it with what’s most important to its own interest.

Others may determine or define differently – but not I.
