"Starting Today or a Long Time Ago" (a singular long time goal)

(Many people have long and short term goals in their lives – some with written, specific, personal goals – however, this is very few – indeed less than 1% of the population. And of those with goals many never keep records of accomplishments or the journey taken. Lastly most do not have that one long term goal which all other goals are based upon – i.e. where will they be after leaving this mortal probation? Below is my eternal long range goal – and why, how and when it is to be accomplished. By having such a goal – are all of the other goals in all six areas of my life –which I’ve control over: 1) Personal; 2) Family; 3) Ethical/Spiritual; 4) Physical; 5) Financial and 6) Social; either tangible or intangible – long term or short term – going to bring me closer or further away from this singular long term goal? If the answer is yes – closer – then the goal will be worked out as the following long term goal – if the answer is no – further away – then it will be put aside until it will bring me closer – or discarded if it will never bring me closer! c/ork 2/4/17)

Seemingly forever to be setting goals
was it the age of eight first learning
understanding their importance to me
others as well sometimes included
now some 65 years later still engaged
always with the most important goal
foremost in all my thinking and doing
for without this one singular goal
I’d be like a ship on the seas drifting
without compass or helm/rudder
sails shredded or engine broken
going nowhere and arriving always
starting today or long ago we’ve each
a time to trim our ships upon the seas
gathering strength from our Father
as on each Sabbath day we can
recharging our batteries fully
able to withstand the worldly winds
knowing where is the safe harbor
returning to our Heavenly Father
from where we left in mortal birth!

"Worth Repeating" (One Goal - 12/30/13)

Every single person who sets goals should have just one goal! This goal is predicated upon all others goals one might set in their life. It would be my expectation that one might meaningfully have thousands of goals. These could be found as either tangible or intangible goals. They should be in the six main areas of their life; family, social, physical, mental, financial and moral/ethical. Thus with goals in each of the six areas however one were to define them would be a mixture of both tangible and intangible. Secondary to this these goals should have a blend of short term, medium term and long term durations. Short term could be as short as one or two hours to up to three to four weeks. While medium term goals are usually from one month to one year. Long term goals could be from one year to any number of years especially where intangible goals are concerned.

Seems like a long way from just one single goal but bear with me a bit longer. Goals to be efficient need to be written and specific (see Paul J. Meyers) and be broken down in generally the following way. The initial part of a goal is for it to be written clearly and understandably so that one can see exactly what it is that they want to achieve. Part of the written clarification is whether the goal is tangible or intangible. Next to place it in a specific area of your life. Some may overlap – i.e. family and social, moral/ethical and financial – but one should pick the area best identified with the goal. Then one sets a date for the achievement of this particular goal. This is the date when you want to achieve the goal – it could be as short as a couple of weeks or many months or even years. (Note: for very short term goals less than a couple days – simply identifying it and listed it is usually enough.)

For every goal one has they follow the above pattern – until in each area of one’s life they’ve as many as ten or more – with some being tangible and intangible. Next when this initial stage is done – one then has to prioritize the goals they taken the time to write up for themselves. (Note: remembering even the list we make for daily things we want/need to do – we should prioritize them – this is so we get the most important done first – the less important may either wait till tomorrow or even another week.)

Once we’ve prioritized our goals we go to the next step of the process and this is to list all of the obstacles which stand between us and the achievement of each individual goal. Sometimes some are stymied by what this obstacles might be – i.e. sailing around the world would be easy – while baking a twenty tier cake might be more difficult. This is where I invoke the Funny Girl song, “Don’t Rain on my Parade” and allow some others who are usually negative what it is I’m trying to accomplish and they’ll invariably rain on my parade by telling me all the reasons I cannot accomplish this goal. Then I write down what they’re saying and see what it is I’ve missed.

Now that the obstacles are written down – I need to find the solutions to each obstacle! Again the idea of eating the elephant one bite at a time works very well in effective goal setting. Once the solutions are written down – I ask whether this is still a worthwhile goal for me at this time – if the answer is yes – I validate the date of accomplishment and make any adjustments which might be needful. Then comes the fun part of writing out each goal and that is to get photos, make drawings, cut out pictures so that I can see myself accomplishing the goal(s). With this I then write affirmations to go along with the pictures and apply the act as if principle.

This may seem like a lot of work for one or even a thousand goals – however, one will learn that some need all of these step while others do not – especially the shorter range goals after one gets used to setting more than just one or two goals in their lives. In addition having all of this written down allows you to keep track of where you are in your progress – let’s say an example might be to read 20 books – 15 non-fiction and 5 fiction over the next six months. This would mean reading just over three book a month – and you just check them off as you read them. Keeping score is very important for then you know where you are and not just where you think you are.

Okay back to the one goal which determines all other goals! Throughout the Scriptures Heavenly Father and the Son (our Lord and Savior) are constantly referring to each of us with our families coming back to live with them (if you take the Scriptures literally and haven’t been led astray that only 5% is really factual the rest can summarized in Greek Philosophy). If this is the case – which I not only believe but know to be true – then our only real goal in mortality is to return to our Heavenly Father and His Only Begotten Son with our family intact (both our progenitors and our posterity). I reference 1 Peter 3:7 where it says, Husbands and wives are heirs together forever! Or one can review the many Scriptures where the Son talks of many mansions – and there are many more – which point unerringly to our having the right if we’re worthy to become like the Father and the Son and inherit eternal life in the Celestial Kingdom with them. Paul talks of this often and well as many of the Prophets.

Thus we should each have ‘one goal’ i.e. “At the end of my mortal probation I will return to my Heavenly Father and His Only Begotten Son our Lord and Master Jesus Christ – with my extended family in the Celestial Kingdom to dwell with them for time and all eternity as an eternal family.” This is a tangible goal the Scripture tells us it is so – and we know when it will occur at the end of our mortal probation. We know the obstacles; i.e. to be found fully obedient to all of the Commandments, Statutes and Laws as set forth by the Father, the Son and their representatives here on this earth known as Prophets and Apostles (called by them only). We know the solutions to the obstacles begin and end with learning what all of the Commandments, Statutes and Laws are that were to be obedient in full with in our lives. Pictures, photos, drawings can all be made representing this return and the affirmation’s can easily be stated.

Why this one goal? This one goal is the key to the rest of our mortal lives – in that – every other goal we’ll set will either take us closer or further away from the accomplishment of this on single goal. Thus as we set the daily, monthly, yearly goals in our life the one paramount question will always be – will this bring me closer to the obedience needed or further away. We then have a simple decision tree whereby we can reject some goals out of hand – while pursuing those which bring us closer.

Dating, what to do or not do – all become quite clear – our mode of dress – what music we listen to – what movies we watch – how we obey in keeping the Sabbath Day holy – all these areas of our lives become much more simplified based on what importance we place on what the Father, the Son and the Prophets/Apostles have taught us throughout time and continue to do so today.

Hopefully this helps one and all as we prepare for another very difficult year – and our planning and modifications we each need to make in our lives as we relate to the worldly around us.

In the name of Jesus Christ – amen  - c/ork

Perhaps just a myth
these lives just time
decaying upon death
without value or love
empty as some teach
without body or parts
without emotion to feel
in total rejections to be
or just perhaps this:
Meaning and loving
Our Father preparing
places for each of us
families to be eternal
as Prophets teach
worthiness/obedience
self-worth and value
moral and virtuous
eternal and forever
with accomplishing
just one goal only
to return to Father!

"Worldly or Father's Way" (short essay)

“Worldly or Father’s Way”
(Babylon or Zion)
cji
12/20/16

Over time and space one wonders of the eternities – pondering whether men/women are correct or Heavenly Father. Too many decide there has to be a mix of the two and therefore comes the confusion so desired by the adversary. We’ve to remember ‘man’s wisdom is as foolishness compared to Gods!’ However, even with the Scriptures many still choose to follow the teachings of men/women to those of the Father. Taking much out of context and ultimately believing that the Scriptures are not to be taken literally – but only as suggestions or a guide. There are many Commandments beyond the basic ten which most profess (but do not follow) and disobedience to any or all of them will preclude one who understands them from eternal life with their families in the Celestial Kingdom eternally with the Father and Son and their families.

Simple choices of obedience to the Sabbath Day – or even honoring one’s parents – coveting what a neighbor or friend might have – swearing taking the name of the Father or Son in vain in regular conversation. How much can be scripted by men/women to justify disobedience to any of the Commandments? Who knows – as new ways appear daily or even moment to moment. Yet it is even more easy than this to understand. How and where were you married? By man/woman or by one of Heavenly Father’s appointed servants – in a Chapel or Church – Synagogue – Mosque – on a beach – or in our Father’s House (The Temple)?

Why is it important to eternal salvation for the entire family to be married in the House of the Lord – by proper authority for time and all eternity. Remember the Sealing power given to John (and the other Apostles) to Seal on earth that which would be then Sealed in heaven? Why was the Temple so important to the Jews over the centuries before the birth of the Savior? Why in Jewish home do they leave one room uncompleted? Why do they break the toasting glass at the wedding ceremony? Can you answer these questions – if not why not? Treasure the answers to these questions – I could answer them for you – but better you should do your own research – not based on today but centuries ago are the answers to be found.

There are so many Scriptures in the Old and New Testament to testify of the Father and of the Son being two separate individuals with bodies of flesh and bone – please search them out – read carefully and understand this life is not just by chance – it is by divine design – and for the purpose of us to return to become as the Father and the Son (again see the Scriptures) – to return to them of our own moral agency. We’ve to make correct choices – not based on the religions or beliefs of men/women or the worldly – but of reading the literal Scriptures given to us of the Savior and his Prophets and Apostles (then and now). This isn’t random choice of who’ll be saved and who won’t – it is about repentance – and most of all about complete obedience to the Father and the Son and their Commandments, Laws and Statutes.

It is not easy to return to the Father and the Son – with our families – there are definite rules and only one path to Zion – to become pure in heart, mind, deed – indeed without sins of this world. Of course this is not easy – temptations are all around us – music, tv, videos, dress, language, confusions, hatreds, books, magazines, rewritten scriptures, poor translations, and so much more to lead each away from Zion’s singular road to our homes (mansions) in heaven prepared for us by the Savior. Any deviation from the path to Zion – is to be in and of the world – and therefore impure in the eyes of the Father and the Son. There are no excuses for not being found on Zion’s road for those who can read and write and thus comprehend all things if they so choose. However, the Father and the Son will never force one to be obedient – it will always be an individual choice – yet they will allow one to truly repent of all their sins with the exception of one – the denial of the Holy Ghost! (Note: Only those who’ve been baptized by both water and the fire of the Holy Ghost can ever deny the Holy Ghost. These are the apostates who once having received the gift of the Holy Ghost by one having authority (this comes from divine authority and not self-taken or bestowed by colleges, universities, divinity schools or other of the worldly representatives of religion) holding the higher Priesthood.) These then who deny are those who leave but seemingly cannot leave the Church alone having been beguiled by the adversary and the world.

Even those who are good people – honest – forthright – and profess a belief in the Father and the Son who do not take upon them all of the Gospel of Jesus Christ will find as they are taught only to be attending angels – and not Celestial beings to live eternally with their families forever and ever as to be Eternized. This is hard doctrine but it is true – again read your Scriptures – use your common sense and reasoning – feel the promptings of the spirit within you to know of the surety of this message for this is also true doctrine – though the world refute it they cannot change its truthfulness!

Why do I go over and over the same theme – because those who’ll receive this are my friends and I’ve no bigger gift to share with each and all of you. You and your families can be eternal (it’s in the Scriptures) – however, there are ordinances and covenants which can only be made while in mortality. None can force or otherwise make anyone do anything – however if this doctrine and the Scriptures prove out what I’m trying to share – it should feel good – taste good – and validate your attention to eternal salvation.

Why do continue to share this – because this was the purpose and mission of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ – to remove death (Spiritual Death) – and to share the only pathway to Zion – which is to return to the Father on high – with our loved ones – to share in the blessings of full obedience. If any profess a belief in Jesus Christ – then read literally what has been shared by him and the Prophets/Apostles – still the KJV is the best translation outside of the Holy Bible as translated by Joseph Smith Jr. who I testify was and is a Prophet of God.

Sometimes I weary – in the name of Jesus Christ – amen – c/ork

“What is Correct (or how to understand what’s going on today) (short essay)

Was asked what I meant by PC – my reply: Bringing politics into one's behavior - wearing of offensive clothing  against the police - I've been involved in Civil Rights from the 1950's - was with Martin Luther King for an evening in Harlem in 1964 (I was 18 at the time - we spent over 8-9 hours discussing some of my essays and white/black issues - at my age it irritates me that the education and political correctness is re-writing history to be non-recognizable - teaching hatred and separatism rather than getting education - keeping families together - rather than having the government being one or more parents in some sections of our nation. Watching riots when criminals commit crimes - and get caught.

Smile - went off a little - by the way I was most likely the only white kid in Harlem at 4AM - when Dr. King had his driver take me back to the Naval Receiving Station in Brooklyn - chuck

My Friends reply, “I believe we have to agree to disagree”  “I’d prefer to think that I stand during the anthem and hold my hand across my heart to recognize the ideals that we aspire to, not the reality of what we are.
I recognize, however, that I’m a middle-aged white man, and it’s easy and painless for me to do so.  I recoil in horror at the reality of how minorities are treated in some parts of this country.  I know how it offends me, and if I were a young athlete, I’d be sorely tempted to find a way to speak out on the issue.”

My Reply: We don't disagree! I've great empathy for the situation in this nation - especially for those who've been subjected to a different type of slavery - one by our government and those who believe their the minority leaders (who only care for themselves). I've lived and worked with migrants - have been into the worst ghettos of this nation - hitch-hiked the complete east coast and across the south to the west coast before I was 19 years old - at the age of 11 and again at 15 I ran away from my adoptive home to see what it was I was supposed to be learning.

Anyone anywhere can change - it has to come from within - not without - attitude makes all the difference - incentives and fear do absolutely nothing but keep the norm temporarily - or influence others to stay where they are - i.e. both are external and can be increased or cut off at the will or dementia of the other.

Not understanding why what is happening to one in their choices is the fault of those who desire to keep them subservient. When I was with Dr. King (Dr. McLean, Dr. Abernathy, Dr. Brooks) in Harlem we were discussing the essay I'd written at 17 entitled, "Man's Right to be a Human Being." We spent nine hours asking and answering questions. What Dr. King wanting the other leaders (JJ and Big Al) didn't want - they wanted power - Dr. King and those close to him wanted rights and understanding.

The murdered Dr. King and then took over his movement - till what we've got today - a lying media - corrupt politicians - and a distortion of most everything in this nation. Therefore - anyone who wants to do the right thing for the right reason at the right time is considered a racist - and need to be destroyed - i.e. police - law abiding citizens - and make heroes of the criminals - illegals - and other who are the parasites of our nation.

This has become so insidious in our nation that more and more white families are one parent - into the 3rd and 4th generation - taking and giving nothing - using the system - having granny raise the kids or simple living together without either marriage or commitments.

Lest you think otherwise - I used to care in South Africa for the children (we were in the hospital at the same time) of the owners of the one transsexual bar/night club in Durban. Thus I knew many who were gay/lesbian/transsexuals - and many were easy to get along with - while at the same time as we've idiots in the straight community and they've theirs caring not for the privacy of a relationship - but selfish/demanding and difficult to get along with. Life is difficult when one doesn't want to be responsible or accountable for their actions but demand others to notice them and provide for them.

We speak out on various issues by the example we set and gaining a better understanding of what is really going on. Minorities have choices - which those we read about daily - and see profiled in the news - have abdicated. BLM and others of their ilk who riot - destroy - demean - are not minorities but parasites - those who defend a violent criminal who's shot during a crime - and then incite the community to riot and destroy - to attack whitey - or those who wander the streets and play the 'knock out' game - are the same only worse - because they could change their act to being productive. When Huey N. and the Black Panthers were first organized they went into their communities and helped - but not today!

Yes the conditions which many are raised - drugs - prostitution - filth - is a choice - not always made by those who live in it - but those who have or had responsibility for them. All the government dollars go into the pockets of others - for it indeed they went to the needy - there'd be no reason they'd all not have homes and families without the drugs and other crimes. We've spent as a nation for every single person in the inner-cities to have over a half-million dollars per family - only to see it go up in smoke and mirrors.

What this QB was protesting was his ignorance of what is really going - yes there's bad police - some white - some black and other races - however for the most part most are honest with families - caring for their community.  The msm only focuses on the evil - and then not even them just that a cop shot a black person. Remember when a cop shot a white teenager in SLC - who was bringing out his cell phone - there were no riots or even media coverage. Or when the 5 year old white girl was sexually abused by illegal aliens transported into our nation - everyone has tried to cover it up.

Please understand we don't disagree - we do agree - chuck

"Withdrawing Our Wrath" (short essay)

“Withdrawing our Wrath”
cji
5/2/16

Too often we speak too loudly before remembering the council given throughout the ages from the Scriptures. We speak of fighting back – taking it the enemy or adversary but forget history! Anger is one thing – righteous anger is the Lord’s – not ours and unless we’re in tune with him any exercise of anger on our part could and must likely would misguided. We’ve no right to cast final judgment on another – only the judgment which would protect ourselves; our homes; our families; and our nation.

This judgment is called intermediate judgment, i.e. we don’t let foxes in the henhouse it’s not good for them and especially not good for the hens. Therefore we build protections to keep them out. The same within our personal lives we don’t want criminals (of any kind) invading our personal space – therefore we lock our doors – and have other means to protect our personal loved ones. In deed in some states we’ve laws such as the Castle Doctrine and others which allow us to use ‘deadly force’. Each of these instances are where our personal space has been attacked – self-defense is both appropriate and understood.

Throughout history – those attacked by an adversary have the right to defend themselves – and only then – for the righteous have only been successful when the Lord is on their side. Righteous means those keeping all of the Commandments all of the time. Otherwise the Lord will use the wicked to by usage of force clean up those who profess Him but don’t keep His Commandments. Then he turns around and allows other wicked to fight against the wicked. (Note: A good review of the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon will validate this completely.)

There’s a rule of thumb called never cast the first stone! Another way of saying don’t fire the first shot (unless another has said they’re going to kill, rape or otherwise attack you and have the ability to do so). We need to remember all in this world will have tribulations and especially the righteous!  And in our nation we are surely facing massive tribulations. What we’re experiencing has been experienced in the past as well – so we are not special in this respect other than it is us and not someone somewhere else in history.

One can look at the current protests in our nation as we seek to find a candidate to run for president. Of those running several are seeking to further destroy the Constitution – others are doing most anything to win – and the protesters appear to be hirelings of both the political left and the political correct. If these were honest protesters who didn’t want to leave the US as they’re here illegally they’d be doing it peacefully to set a good example. Instead they’re out to riot and bring shame to themselves and especially those from Mexico bringing shame to their forefathers. They invited themselves to be made to leave the US as they’ve nothing to offer except contempt, hatred and destruction. However, in saying this we’ve to remember as average citizens we can do very little about this situation. We cannot are ourselves and march across the nation to encounter them. (Note: At least three or four states would have us arrested for carrying guns/weapons across their states.) Therefore what we can do is continue to set a good example of a good example – saying true to the covenants we’ve made.

We’ve to withdraw our wrath – we’ve to pray for these enemies of our nation and our freedoms! And we’ve to let Heavenly Father handle this is his way and especially in his time. He didn’t elect selfish, corrupt politicians – we did! He didn’t force anyone to break the laws of the land – they did of their own free will and choice. He didn’t tell us to go out and get vengeance – using man’s religions – ignoring His Prophets – they did. All we’ve been Commanded to do is to be obedient to Him and His Son our Lord and Master Jesus The Christ.

We’re commanded to clean up our selves – our families – our homes – our neighborhoods and thus affect our nation to become more righteous. The problem is too few place too little trust in the Lord and therefore have little faith and understanding of what is really taking place in our world today. We’re in the latter-days for our civilization – whether it be sooner or later we don’t know – only the Father – but we’re to know and understand the Scriptures – we’re to know Our Father in Heaven and His Son – Jesus Christ – personally – to honor them – respect them (which means to be obedient to them in all things – and nothing less) being accountable and responsible to them fully.

Below are lists of Scriptures for our observation – of course they’re out of context but one can go back and read them fully. Remember he who initiates the fight or conflict is usually never in the right – we’ve a right to defend ourselves. Remember it is the citizens of this nation who’ve elected unrighteous leaders for decades – going against all of the teachings of the Founding Fathers – when one says I’m picking the lesser of two evils they’re still voting for evil – and this nation has surely voted for evil. May we repent – most likely doubtful that many will – but individually we can bring our families back into the garden or vineyard of the Lord – I pray in the name of Jesus Christ – amen – c/ork

Mormon 4:5 But, behold, the judgments of God will overtake the wicked; and it is by the wicked that the wicked are punished; for it is the wicked that stir up the hearts of the children of men unto bloodshed.

Gathering in our stock and families
teaching correct principles and truths
allowing the Spirit of the Lord to breathe
bringing forth good fruits and blessings
comforting the sick, homeless, naked
caring for the widow and orphan
having complete trust in the Lord
therefore understanding Scriptures
‘…wicked shall punish the wicked…’
history has proven over and over
this is how it takes place in time
the Lord’s time and not our time
we’ve to endure to the very end
holding fast to the Rod of Iron
standing fast in our testimony
Jesus is the Christ-he lives
Heavenly Father lives also
knowing this to be true always
acting on these truths always!
